Overview

In 2022, Washington State Department of Health contracted with the University of Washington School of Public Health to conduct a Data Modernization Initiative Gap Analysis. The purpose of the analysis was to identify areas of improvement within our state public health ecosystem.

This analysis identified several key public health strategic skills important to the public health workforce. These are reflected in the training categories below. Online modules and webinars were chosen from major public health training sites and evaluated for quality using the National Network of Public Health Institutes’ Quality Standards for Training Design and Delivery. Relevance to the topic area, clear learning objectives, length, appropriateness for Washington state audiences, and audio and visual quality, were important criteria for inclusion.
